Preparing your home for sale

As we prepare for the busy spring market,  we thought it would be prudent to send a message to our clients and our blog readers about the importance of preparing  a home for sale before it is listed on the market.  It is a well known fact that buyers feel more comfortable buying a well cared for home.  It is imperative for sellers to maintain their home and give it a polished, clean and cared for appearance as soon as they make the decision to sell.  It is also important for sellers to set a budget for the work they will do in preparation of the sale.   Let’s begin by talking about the exterior of your home.  Curb appeal is extremely important.  It is the first thing that buyers notice and also their first impression.   Make sure your front lawn looks clean, rake up any dead leaves from trees, plant fresh, colourfull flowers, make your windows sparkle and power-wash walkways.  If your front door looks tired, maybe give it a quick coat of paint to freshen it up.   Let’s talk about the interior; You will need to go from room to room and clean up any clutter.
